I've had a new puppy for a month and haven't blogged about it!!!!

This is my first time blogging with my iPad. So far so good. The only thing is I don't think I have pictures of Tru, our new Husky pup, in my iPad picture folder, so I may have to add them later. Anyway, Tru is here. We got her the day before my birthday and she was actually born on Autumn's birthday, so I thought that was a good sign. Especially since I was picking her up sight unseen and had only reports from her breeder as to her temperament...with TiVo we got to meet his litter and he picked us. Anyway, it's been over a month and she is awesome. For the first month she only had eyes for TiVo and we thought show was never gonna notice any of us. But over the past 2 weeks she has come out of her dog centric world and is becoming attached to us...especially me, but then again, I'm the one with her all the time.

Tru has been great for TiVo. Siberian Huskies really are social dog and while they can be fine in a one dog family they are really happiest when there is, at least, one other dog. For the first 36 hours TiVo wouldn't let Tru move. He had to keep her pinned down and drag her around and show her who was the king of the house in typical Husky (quite wolf like) style. After 2 days they were in love. He still rough houses with her at least once a day to keep her in the #2 slot, but it is killer cute how they play and enjoy each other's company.

Tru loves the dog park as much as TiVo and when we first got her, she was 10 weeks old, and we took her there she walked in like she owned the place. No fear! I loved it. She is almost 4 months old and huge. TiVo is over tall for a Husky, but he is light...54lbs. Tru is already 27lbs! And she is a big girl. She may get close to TiVo's height which would make her tall for a female, but I would be cool with that. I love TiVo's gangly wolfy look.

Of course, the deal with Robert was that I had to rehome the kitties in order to get another Husky. TiVo had been trying to eat the cats since he was about 4 months old. I had a dream last night about all three of them. I miss them a lot. But they we were really unhappy with one dog...2 would have sent them over the edges. I had to split them up. Toonces went to one girl, and Milo and Ginger went to another, but I still crying jags over them. Don't judge me...I judge myself enough. But the dogs go with me everywhere, the cats didn't. The dogs get me out to exercise and meet new people, notsofor the kitties. So, I'm praying that St. Francis continues to watch over my kitties and keep them happy in their new dog free homes.

Walking to Church

I actually went to bed at 10:30 last night. Amazing for insomniac me.  So, when the pupster woke up at 7 I was ready to take him for a walk, unlike yesterday where I slid down the last half of the stairs with him. I think I was too sleepy to know where I was. Well, when I got to the end of the stairs on my ass I sure knew where I was. But I digress. Since it is very cool and nice outside I think I will walk the 3 miles to church for 9 am Mass which means I better get crackin and leave.

Teev had his first puppy training class last night. We were the only ones to sign up for that time slot so it's personal training for the group price....COOL!  The trainer was really impressed with the work we have already been doing with him. Yes, folks, after three untrained children I will not be dropping the ball with the dog!! Tivo learned last night the command , "Look at me."  We also learned "sit" (which Autumn had already taught him just wonderfully) and "release" which is to come out of the sitting position. The trainer said it lays the foundation for "stay" later.

Oh, and this is the best part, Autumn now has a cheek length bob haircut. She's been wanting it short forever, but My Hunny likes long hair on his daughter. Interestingly, My Hunny loves me with a chin length bob, but with The Girlie it is a princess thing...I think. Anyway, she was spending the night at Morgan's house when she got a little round brush stuck in her hair. Of course, rather than asking her Godmother, Lisa (Morgan's mom) to help her get the brush out, My Girlie took matters into her own hands and cut the darn thing out. The other up side is that she has 10 inches of hair to donate to Locks of Love, which makes wigs for kids with cancer. So, she is very happy that she could help those kids.

I'll post pics but right now I must "get me to church".

Peace,

Happy Birthday to Ben!!

Here he is with Tivo. Ben woke us at 7 to open his 2 gifts...a Nintendo DS and one game for it.  Now Ben can be plugged in the Matrix anytime anywhere. Woo Hoo! We only do parties for the kids once around 5 or 6 , then once at 13 and once at 16. So, what we do normally is take the birthday kid where they want to go for dinner and a movie of their choice. Ben has picked the the 3rd movie in the Mummy series. It could not be more perfect for Ben. He  loves ninjas, zombies (mummies), dragons, action. It opens today and you would think that it was set up just for Ben.  I think Brendan Fraser is pretty cute, so I cool with the pick.

Happy Birthday my sweet Ben! You are a challenge to parent, but dad and I love you desperately! We Love you!  Below is Tivo attacking Ben in 'comic book' effects mode on Photobooth.

Re-Introducing: Tivo (the dog, not the tv device)

Since my efforts to conceive another child for myself have continually ended in dismal failure...but my desperate need for a baby remained in full force, I felt I needed to take matters into my own hands and obtain a baby, for myself, in the only other way I knew how, I bought one!

Tivo (pronounced Teevoh) is just 7 weeks old today. He has auburn hair (oops, fur), blue eyes and weights 9.8lbs. Isn't he gorgeous? He's a purebred Siberian Husky. He is awesome...he is nonplussed by the cats...though they find him very interesting. (For those of you who had read this post formerly, we orginally named him Desmond after a favorite LOST character. Anyway, after 24 hours, this puppy is NOT a Desmond...it's too serious.) Last night, while we were watching a show we had Tivo'd, Robert said, "Hey, what about naming him Tivo?" And we all said (virtually in unison) "Yeah!".  So, Tivo it is.
